i was standing on my roof and saw a familiar face walking down the street. i wanted to get your attention, but in my dream i couldn't recall your name and knew that "hey, you!" wouldn't really work. i started thinking of everything i could that reminded me of you: that time i saw you randomly in the computer lab and we embraced as long lost friends at an airport, coming to see your play (something about 6 seconds? or maybe 7 seconds?), walking up university after class... it worked! your name made its way through the abyss of my brain and into my mouth like a cash register :: cha-ching :: you looked up, squinted in the sunlight for a beat until you recognized me and smiled that brilliant smile.
